Welcome to Runways 2 Roadways!

We’re Dan and Heather, and we're from Plainfield, Indiana. We've decided to turn our dreams into destinations one road trip at a time. Heather is a retired airline dispatcher and college professor, and Dan still soars the skies as a Boeing 747 captain for a worldwide cargo airline. Together, we've swapped our passports for road maps (at least part-time!) to explore the country from the comfort of our shiny Airstream travel trailer.

Why "Runways2Roadways"? Well...  After years of navigating the globe from 35,000 feet, we decided it was time for adventures at ground level—complete with campfires, scenic routes, and spontaneous detours. Whether it's discovering hidden gems across small-town America, chasing stunning sunsets, or finding that perfect lakeside campsite, we're here to share every twist, turn, and delightful surprise along the way.
